It is impossible to say "Jesus was just a good man" as many people do. At least it is impossible to say logically. Jesus told us He is the son of God. If He is man, and not God, this is a lie. If Jesus is a liar, then He cannot be a good man. Therefore, He must be God or He is a bad man.

I heard this in a sermon by Harlan Betz of Grace Chapel Castle Rock a few weeks ago and I keep thinking and thinking about it. So many people would have us believe Jesus was a prophet, a wise man, and a good man, but not God. I never believed this but before I heard this sermon, I didn't realize how incorrect the argument was.
