You like to write. You experiment with words all the time when you write. But how do you do when you have to say those words in front of a group?
I spent part of the day as a judge for a National Christian Forensics and Communication Association competition. The first word to look at is Forensics. The definition is pertaining to, connected with, or used in courts of law or public discussion and debate. Most of us today think of forensics as science and lab technicians, but that was obviously not the original meaning. The important word here is Communication. I judged two types of speeches presented by high school young people who are homeschooled. The speeches were excellent. I had a difficult time deciding on the top speeches because of the quality. I wish I could have giving them all first place. Talking to some parents, I learned some of these youth are interested and involved in writing books. When it comes to marketing their books, they have already taken a major step. They will be able to talk to groups and promote their written work. Are you ready to take this step?
