Journey to Light

Genesis 1:13-14 -- There was the evening and there was morning, a third day. Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years; (NASB)

A third day, Abba, at this task of writing from the Bible. Not only does this correspond with the time I have spend writing this, but it also shows that we are on a journey together. We move through Your words as time passes and I continue to learn. Abba, I thank you for the lessons You are teaching me through Your word. I thank You for this opportunity to learn more about Your word in a special way and in a special time. I appreciate beyond the words I put on this page that You care enough about me to set me on this journey and to take this journey with me.

Abba, I just realized that before this point there was light without a visible source of light. Where did the light come from if there was no sun or moon or stars? Of course, I know the light came from You, but I never thought about it before. Behind me right now, I have light bulbs illuminating the Bible from which I am copying the words on this screen, but before this point in creation there was no “light bulbs” but there was a source of light. Back up, there was light, but not a source of light. That is amazing, Abba. To see without a source, that is what faith is all about. I don’t need to search for a source because I have You. I don’t need a “light bulb” because I have You. I don’t need a visible thing because You are the unseen source of everything I need. Abba, thank You for being that unseen source. Thank You for filling my life with a light that doesn’t require something to be there, a light that just plain IS.
